In December 2015, the foundation was laid for meetings of research seminars in anthropology, which over these 10 years has taken the form of a permanent research seminar. Today, it continues to exist as a series of research seminars of the Center for Social and Cultural Anthropology and the Doctoral Program in Anthropology. Over these years, this research seminar has become a place for gathering researchers of various directions in anthropology, both Georgian and foreign, and for creating new knowledge.

We are marking the 10th anniversary of the research seminars with presentations of research projects and publications by members and affiliated members of the Center for Social and Cultural Anthropology, founded in 2024 in Ilia State University, as well as with a digital photo exhibition created within the framework of Elene Gavashelishvili’s project “Between the Sea and the Land: Work and Family lives of Georgian Sailors” (Rustaveli Science Foundation)
