Biography

Esma Berikishvili holds a Master’s degree in Sociology and Social Anthropology from Central European University (CEU). Currently, she is pursuing her PhD at Ilia State University, focusing on her dissertation titled “The City of Eternal Promises –The Affect of Lost Infrastructure and Informal Economic Practices in the Port City of Poti, Georgia”. Esma has collaborated with various academic and research organizations. Her academic work focuses on subcultures, social and urban movements in Georgia. Additionally, she is an emerging documentary film producer
