Biography

In 2005 Mariam Urdia graduated Master’s programme in cultural studies at the Sschool of Philosophy and Sociology of Ivane Javakhishvili State University of Tbilisi, the topic of her master thesis was: globalization and Georgian culture. In 2012 she graduated the MA programme in Development Management at Ruhr University, Bochum, Germany, with the master thesis: the role of culture in conflict prevention and resolution, case study – Georgia. Current professional practice of Ms. Urdia is connected to the field of environment protection and it involves integration of social and cultural dimensions (e.g. public participation, gender equality and gender roles) in the field of nature consevation and sustainable management of natural resoruces.
