About the lecture

In his lecture, Andrei Vazyanau will analyze Ukrainian elderly people traveling by tram and trolleybus as a symbiosis between human bodies and electric vehicles.

About the speaker

Andrei Vazyanau is a lecturer at European Humanities University (Lithuania) and a researcher at the Minsk Urban Platform (Lithuania). Andrei defended his doctoral thesis in Social Anthropology at the University of Regensburg. His research interests are focused on urban transport, time and media. Andrei draws on participatory practices in his ethnography, including collaboration with activists. His fieldwork experience includes the Donetsk region of Ukraine in 2011-2013; Romania – 2015-2016 and Belarus – 2018-2021.
